Routine well-baby visits are offered by the nursing staff at the Manitouwadge Family Health Team and the Manitouwadge Physicians Group.
Routine well-baby visits are scheduled with a registered nurse. At these appointments, the child will receive a physical exam, following the Rourke Guidelines, as well as receive their publicly funded vaccines.
Routine well-baby visits are scheduled at:
- 2 months
- Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Polio, Haemophilus influenza type b
- Pneumococcal Conjugate 13
- Rotavirus (optional)
- 4 months
- Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Polio, Haemophilus influenza type b
- Pneumococcal Conjugate 13
- Rotavirus (optional)
- 6 months
- Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Polio, Haemophilus influenza type b
- 9 months (optional, without vaccines)
- 12 months
- Measles, mumps, rubella
- Pneumococcal Conjugate 13
- Meningococcal Conjugate – C
- 15 months
- 18 months
- Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Polio, Haemophilus influenza type b
Parents will be provided with their child’s yellow immunization card at their two month visit. This card must be brought to each subsequent well baby visit to document vaccines received.
The Manitouwadge Family Health Team will report the child’s vaccines to the Thunder Bay District Health Unit. Proof of vaccines is required for a child to attend school.
Appointments for a well-baby exam and vaccines are scheduled for 40 minutes.
